A day in your life as a Commercial Deposit Management Center Officer:
Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the servicing of Commercial Banking clients and developing new business with existing clients and prospects.  Responsibilities include the preparation of deposit and credit requests as well as maintenance of the assigned deposit portfolio.  If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.  

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…
  • Serves as primary client contact calling and relationship officer responsible for building relationships with existing clients and soliciting new business prospects. Makes calls to establish, maintain and expand profitable client relationships, including solicitation of new deposits, credits, trust and investment services to fulfill client needs.
  • Manages client relationships and maintenance of deposit portfolio.  
  • Assists in the preparation of formal written loan requests CAMs and memos to file and assists in the structuring, pricing and recommending of commercial credit requests.  Analyzes pertinent credit information, financial statements, and related data to evaluate requests for credit.
  • Builds relationships with existing referral sources and cultivates new referral sources both internally and externally.  Participates in community and/or trade organizations to expand professional circle and make available services known to wider group.
  • Meets with staff members and external professionals to develop/maintain professional relationships. Participates in business and community events to expand professional circle and make available services known to wider group.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT:  Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry.  If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date.  If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.

Education:  
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution, major in business or related area preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:  
  • Must have a good understanding of relevant aspects of financial statement analysis, as well as some understanding of deposit management and cash flow lending.
  • Requires a general understanding of business economics and markets.
  • Minimum two to three years of banking experience, including sales and credit training, or equivalent work experience. 

Technical Skills:  
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software.  
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software.  
  • Requires advanced spreadsheet skills.

  • Able to work with all levels of employees, management, as well as key executives of major corporations.

  • Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized, and independent.  
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. 
  • Must be able to analyze large amounts of data quickly, draw conclusions from sometimes incomplete information and make good decisions. 
  • Able to solve problems creatively and decisively. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings a necessary. 
  • Able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and able to commute and arrive at intended destination as required. 
  • Must be able to travel to various locations and by air as necessary.
