A day in your life as a Mortgage Investor Reporting Specialist:

Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for providing investor assistance, researching and resolving inquiries, as well as processing investor requests with minimal supervision. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.  In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Accurately prepares and transmits various reports and remits funds to investors in accordance with sometimes very complex servicing agreements and/or applicable regulations.  Coordinates with Secondary Marketing for new investors or pools and sets-up various headers to ensure proper transfer and servicing.
  • Cross-trains with other staff members to support vacation and illnesses within business unit.
  • Completes and reviews various reports to verify integrity of information.  Processes investor accounting transactions by accurately preparing debit, credit tickets and manual payments.  Uses system edit reports to review any errors and rejects while ensuring timely correction and completion of various reports.  Verifies arm rates for customer service.
  • Reviews, researches and responds to standard and non-standard requests from investors.  Assists with annual audit request from auditors and investors.
  • Understands and utilizes the functionality of the Mortgage Servicing Platform and all other available system tools to perform duties efficiently and effectively.  Assists in preparing documents and implementing changes to procedures when required by investors.
  • Reconciles the investors’ custodial accounts within 15 days after cut-off.  Participates in training of new functions and enhancements of the system or operations.  Attends monthly Functional Advisory Committees (FAC) meetings that our vendor and investors provide.

 


Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience: 

  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills required. 
  • Mortgage/escrow experience preferred.

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. 
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems. 
  • Must be able to use 10-key calculator and microfiche reader in addition to standard office equipment.

 

Other Job Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including excellent phone etiquette.
  • Must have good interpersonal and client servicing skills sufficient to meet Bank standards.
  • Able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills, with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Must be able to manage a high volume of detailed work in a fast paced environment. 
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple changing priorities.
  • Possesses a good working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Always follows up and follows through. 
  • Must have good interpersonal and client servicing skills to meet the Bank’s standards.
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. 
  • Must be able to work the first week of every month to meet deadlines; no vacation can be taken during that time. 
  • Able to lift loan files weighing 20 – 30 lbs.
