A day in your life as a Retail Lending Channel Sales Manager:
Under the direction of the Retail Lending Division Manager, this position develops and implements the channel sales strategy and annual sales plan for the Retail Lending Division.  The channel strategy is designed to achieve Division sales and revenue goals in the near and long-term.  This position requires active management, communication, and partnership with channel partners such as:  Hawaii Branch Division (Business Banking Officers, Personal Bankers, Consumer Banking Representatives), Mortgage Banking Division (Residential Loan Officers), Brokers, Dealers, Telesales agents (Customer Relationship Specialists), Private Client Services, Bankoh Investment Services Group, managers in the Online & Mobile channels, and others with channels that interact with customers.   Designs, implements and supports the development of new channel sales initiatives and delivery efforts with the Banks product management, operations and marketing areas.  If applicable or appropriate, ensures business units compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

  • Channel Sales Management:  Directs, coordinates, and implements the Divisions annual sales plan and sales activities to meet Division financial goals and objectives.  Sales plan includes a calendar of initiatives, incentive programs, training, tools, communication, pipeline monitoring, and other sales management activities.  Actively manages the communication, activity, and regular monitoring of achievement toward Retail Lending sales goals with channel partners.  Assures effective revenue growth and sales tracking systems are in place.  Works closely with channel partners to develop and implement programs to ensure sufficient product knowledge, sales techniques, and sales tools are available to sales teams to maximize the attraction of new clients and expand profitable customer relationships.  In partnership with Retail Lending Product Marketing, coordinates and executes Sales & Marketing programs.  
  • Channel Strategy:   Leads the diversification of the Divisions sales volume mix across channels to ensure that the Divisions financial performance and viability is not overly-dependent on a particular channel.  Activities include the design, development and implementation of new or under-performing channels, including, but not limited to, telebanking, online, mobile.
  • Customer Strategy:  Advocates new product development and product refinement based on input from the line units and clients and customers to Product Management.  Works closely with Portfolio Management and Business Analytics to develop and implement programs to migrate clients and customers into continually higher profit products and services. 
  • Develops and implements product and program knowledge training and sales and marketing skills to staff and partners.  Makes presentations to both bank personnel and partners to sell services.  Ensures training in sales skills and product knowledge is adequate for all sales and sales management staff.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT:  Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry.  If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date.  If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

Experience:  
  • 10 years of business experience including a minimum of 4-5 years sales, marketing, commercial credit and service experience with business clients.  
  • Prior supervisory/coaching experience required. 

Technical Skills:   
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) or similar software.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of business finance and financial requirements.  
  • Strong sales coaching skills and credit knowledge and skills.

Other Job Qualifications:  
  • Exercises strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Demonstrates sales, marketing and service skills which meet Bank of Hawaiis established standards.  
  • Must be able to deliver presentations to bank frontline staff, bank executives, and clients/customers.  
  • Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid drivers license, and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.  
  • Must be able to travel by air to neighbor islands, continental U.S. or internationally.
