A day in your life as a Sales Manager: 
Under the direction of the Bankoh Investment Services, Inc. (BISI) President and Chief Executive Officer, the Sales Manager is responsible for the management of BISI (Broker/Dealer) and Bankoh Advisors (Registered Investment Advisor) sales and training of brokerage, insurance and managed account offerings of in accordance with applicable FINRA, SEC, Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related securities laws and regulations.  Also responsible for the statewide Bank of Hawaii Financial Services Representative (FSR) Program. Assists in business units compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.  In addition, this position is responsible for supporting our advisors with sales and relationship management activities and for contributing to the Banks Vision by actively participating in and practicing the disciplines and behaviors of its Core Values. 

Well give you these important responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall support and supervision of our team of financial advisors (FA).   Duties include, but not limited to, coverage, distilling best practices, performance coaching and management, motivate sales team to achieve firms business objectives and maintain a positive and collaborative employee culture. Responsible for the management of all employees in the team including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development. Goal is to attract, retain and motivate the team to achieve management business objectives and maintain a favorable employee relations climate. Responsible for the timely and effective management of People Services forms and documents relevant to immediate staff.  Drives Advisor adoption of key division initiatives such as e-documentation, Blue360/CRM platform, financial planning, revised compliance processes and forms, etc. 
  • Reviews, monitors, and prepares reports relating to sales activities of investment adviser, brokerage and insurance transactions; looking for sales mix and service distribution across the Bank network for appropriate consistency and quality.  As BISIs designated Power User, responsible for reviewing all BISI related BLUE360 referrals for proper tracking and referral commission payments to BOH staff.  Coordinates efforts with the BLUE360 Manager, management reporting group and the BISI commission area to process BISI referral payments and provide assistance to staff with BISI BLUE360 related matters.  Also provides operational support to assist with tracking and verification of other Bank department BLUE360 tracking for their quarterly incentive plans.   
  • In collaboration with division training manager, supports ongoing training and development of BISI Bank-wide products, services, and quality standards for overall client experience delivery by the Financial Advisors (FAs).  This includes, but is not limited to, training on the use of clearing firm resources, MAPS, Financial Planning, vendor partners, and other sales/product/service related systems and software, and training of entire sales force in brokerage and advisory products and services.  Also responsible for new product and product update training for all FAs. Works with division training manager to develop, maintain, and revise BISI firm-level training program to reflect best practices, legal changes, and Bank policies and procedures.  Communicates with Bank, applicable management, related departments and external vendors to coordinate and execute sales related program activities.
  • Serve as divisions Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the banks Smart Money program. Develop, coordinate, and be able to deliver Smart Money Monday TV segments and Smart Money Educational Seminars.

if you come to us with these qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.  
  • Possess FINRA Series, 7, 63, 24, 53 & 65 or 66 licenses and Hawaii Life, Accident and Health insurance license. CFP a plus.

  • Minimum 10 years brokerage/investment sales experience and minimum 2 years management/supervisory/sales leadership experience.

Technical Skills:  
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software.

Other Job Qualifications: 
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, training and presentation skills, project and process management skills. 
  • Thorough working knowledge of industry rules and regulations.  
  • Must be able to travel.
