A day in your life as an Enterprise Content Management Engineer

Under the direction of the Manager, responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining solutions to improve content practices using the platforms available. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business units compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

Business Partnership
  • Improves positive business relationships with business units and partners.
  • Ensures technical staff is working with business users to understand and analyze their needs and define business requirements for new or existing systems
  • Ensuring technical staff and business partners work towards alternatives and solutions to meet agreed requirements.
  • Analyzes business partner operations to determine opportunities to streamline and automate business process.
  • Understands changing business conditions and their impact on existing processes and operations.
  • Ensures that the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions lead to the development and growth of business through effective use of technology.
  • Drives project planning sessions with clients, business analysts and team members.
  • Directs efforts and communicates project status, schedules and risk assessment.
  • Negotiates and tracks agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business units and IT.
 
Leadership
  • Coordinates and communicates status on issues, projects and other business activities.
  • Understands the elements of overall department management to include:  audit, compliance, policy management, budget management, business continuity, project management, resource management, service management, strategic planning, communication, and vendor management.
  • Provides staff mentoring and coaching to foster a strong team atmosphere.
  • Provides input for performance management and development opportunities of junior staff.
  • Oversees the definition, design and project scope development for projects of varying complexity
  • Researches and facilitates the development of new approaches and techniques for possible implementation individually or through staff.  Works closely with management team to assure all systems are in line with long term strategy.
  • Defines standards and methodologies that reflect industry best practices.
  • Attends vendor conferences, training and site visits.
  • Educates users on systems and processes and acts as an IT consultant.
  • Coordinates project activities, conducts systems research and analysis, recommends alternatives, and ensures implementation.
  • Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business and/or emerging technology
 

Production Maintenance

  • Directs analysis of problems and ensures corrective actions are initiated up through resolution to affected customers in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Drives trouble-shooting efforts and inquiries for systems and product related questions.
  • Plans training for IT professionals and end-users.
  • Assures appropriate knowledge transfer through mentoring  junior staff members, maintains system documentation, and demonstrates best practices
  • Drives other technical teams to identify, research, and resolve problems with application systems, their associated interfaces, and underlying infrastructure.
  • Escalates with appropriate vendor management for problem resolution.
  • Manages application system updates to current revision levels and ensures that processes are in place to ensure that similar updates are applied to the underlying infrastructure and associated interfaces 
  • Gathers business requirements and translates them into internet/Web architecture to achieve business objectives.
  • Provides appropriate documentation for design decisions, estimate assumptions, and performance metrics
  • Provides software product administration, training and help desk support.
 

Systems Analysis

  • Provides systems analysis and design to meet functional and organizational requirements
  • Drives the development of Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposal (RFPs) and business cases.
  • Ensures that systems designs align with Bank of Hawaiis short and long term strategies. 
  • Determine feasibility of new projects by assessing support requirements, risk, and financial impact
  • Plans and recommends architectural changes based on new or changing business requirements
  • Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise. 
 
Testing
  • Drives the application of industry standards toward the development of test plans as appropriate.
  • Creates system test plan and participates in system testing individually or through assigned staff.
  • Reviews test environments and processes and makes recommendations for improvement as appropriate for systems of varying complexity.
  • Directs and executes system and/or acceptance testing.
  • Works with business units and IT teams to define processes for conducting testing and reviewing results.
  • Performs design and pre-implementation walkthroughs.
  • Ensures development and the validity of a disaster recovery plan for an application
  • Recommends and constructs appropriate test environments, plans and associated processes, from inception to conclusion of work effort:
 

Vendor Management

  • Implements and oversees processes for fulfillment of terms.
  • Manages vendor relationships in accordance with Bank of Hawaii vendor management policies and procedures including the completion of annual scorecards where applicable.
  • Drives to resolution issues and concerns with vendor performance especially where there is impact to production and project deliverables.
  • Responsible for implementing the vendor relationship strategies; is able to communicate corporate standards and requirements to better align vendor support delivery.
  • Actively participates in contractual negotiations and leads appropriate changes based on corporate IT standards and support requirements.
  • Participates in the budget process.  Continually seeks optimal value in service from vendors, reviewing and monitoring performance and return-on-investment metrics.
  • Leads users in the assessment of vendor solution options, identifying risks, cost/benefits, and on-going support considerations.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5-years of work experience in information technology supporting Enterprise Content Management Systems. This should include project/process management experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software.  Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems. 

In addition, should have most or all the following knowledge and experience:
  • Experience in SharePoint systems administration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, installing and configuring SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint concepts, and configuration management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interfacing with business units to obtain requirements and knowledge of SharePoint best practices to determine solution approach and design to fulfill requirements.
  • Ability to develop, test and deploy complex SharePoint features & Nintex workflows to support and add value to business processes through SharePoint
  • Champion and provide guidance for SharePoint as an enterprise collaboration platform to fit business needs
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of all out of the box SharePoint features and how to configuring them for business purpose
  • Experience in developing SharePoint search capabilities and integrations with other Office tools
  • Ability to develop and provide training materials and classes
  • Demonstrated ability to configuring search and search services for SharePoint
  • Develop enterprise training material to drive awareness and user adoption.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Central Administration
  • Understanding the ECM Environment from a business perspective to troubleshoot and problem resolution directly with user community and via the Support Desk ticket assignments; assistance to ECM Team with preparation of procedures and scripts to the Support Desk for problem resolution

  • Knowledge of AvePoint tools preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
