A day in your life as a Teller Supervisor...
Under the direction of the Service Manager, provides quality service assisting clients in various banking transactions, assists the Service Manager in daily branch operational needs, provides assistance, training and guidance to Tellers within unit and sells and/or refers various Bank of Hawaii financial services to all clients. Assists in business unit’s compliance with all regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act, as applicable.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

Assists clients and/or Tellers with more complex servicing requests and inquiries by using knowledge of Bank of Hawaii’s products and services. Provides quality service by interacting directly with clients.  Processes a wide range of financial transactions. Provides direction and assistance to clients in utilizing various channels for transactions such as: ATM’s Call Center, E-Bankoh, Night Deposit for business clients, Bank by Mail, and Foreign Currency Exchange machines
 
Provides guidance and training to Tellers to ensure servicing and transaction efficiency levels meet goals and objectives. Oversees day-to-day Teller activities. Assists Service Manager in gathering, preparing and/or monitoring reports. Buys/Sells currency/coin from vault and tellers. Keeps informed of current bank policies, procedures, federal laws and regulations as well as current and new products and sales promotions.   Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required or assigned.
 
Using strong knowledge of Products/Services actively participates in Sales/Referral programs. Identifies clients’ needs. Provides verbal and printed information and explains the features and benefits of the appropriate product.
 
May perform the following: In the absence of a manager, supervises assisting with the scheduling of the Teller staff, opening and closing of accounts, assisting in opening and closing of the vault, serving as the Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Vault, or Night Depository custodian, opening as a Teller, and processing armored car transactions.
 
To perform these functions must be able to: push a cash cart (100 pounds) and or lift approximately 20 to 25 pounds, and use cash dispensing units.
 
May be required to stand for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

High school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent 3 years work experience
 
Minimum two years as a teller, minimum two years branch operations experience and exposure to supervisory functions

 

Demonstrated verbal communication, sales, marketing and service skills which meet Bank of Hawaii’s established standards
