A day in your life as a Trust Administration Officer
Under the direction of the Section Supervisor or Manager, this position is responsible for the efficient administration of fiduciary and investment accounts, compliant with policies and procedures developed to carry out corporate, division and department objectives and for administering employee benefit accounts as assigned, while maintaining an awareness of compliance/regulatory issues impacting policies and procedures, best practices, and impact of function on customer service. Assists in business units compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for conducting sales and relationship management activities utilizing Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) disciplines and behaviors.

  • Responsible for the administration of Trust Services Group (TSG) accounts within regulatory and compliance requirements. Primarily responsible for regulatory reviews, issue resolution, review and approval of transaction processing, doc prep for Investment Policy renewals, and daily account administration needs. Client contact is limited to verification and authentication of client requests.
  • Ensures adherence to company and department policies regarding account administration, administrative reviews, overdrafts, distributions, etc. Evaluates negotiated fee arrangements for appropriateness, and limits Errors & Omissions to goals set by Manager.
  • Works closely with and leverages rest of TSG operations teams to ensure accurate and efficient client service. Supports client servicing team to ensure client experience is in alignment with Bank strategy.
  • Coordinates and completes special projects as required. Represents Trust Operations working on and coordinating inter-departmental projects/teams. Conducts research and analysis, recommends alternatives, develops task plans, and ensures implementation. May deliver presentations to internal groups.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
This position requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator, telephone).

  • Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, preferably with a business-related major, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • Level I: Minimum 5 years of experience administering employee benefit accounts, 5 years of experience administering employee benefit and other related trust accounts, or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires familiarity with and ability to gain a working knowledge of laws, regulations and legal requirements relating to employee benefit and related trust accounts.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
  • Other Job Qualifications: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently. Should have effective interpersonal skills, a customer service orientation and collaborative style which includes teamwork, conflict management, negotiating and problem solving skills. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
